A book club for therapists, social workers, psychologists, and other mental health service students and professionals in the North Carolina Triangle area. We meet every two months to discuss books to improve our skills and knowledge.
Join us! It's Free!
Books are one of the best ways to connect with practitioners, researchers, and others who have knowledge and insight to help us as we work with clients.
Book clubs make it easier to commit to systematic reading habits.
To better understand diverse perspectives. You won’t choose every book your club reads, so you’ll be forced to read works you might never find on your own.
Build and reinforce relationships with other clinicians.
Discussing content in book groups can make you more comfortable and confident in professional discussions to learn and converse more productively.
Share the useful knowledge from the books with our clients!
Book Talk is #1
This group is for the love of books and to grow our knowledge in a safe setting. Please refrain from marketing practices during the meet-ups.
Read The Book or Don't Read the Book
We get it. Sometimes you don’t have time to read, or you dislike the book so much that you can't bring yourself to finish it. You're involvement and feedback is still going to be greatly appreciated. Heck, you may still benefit from attending and hearing what others have to say!
RSVP means "I will definitely be there!"
Please keep your RSVP up to date. You may update your reservation at any time on the EVENTS page. Afterall, nobody likes No-Shows!
Please Be Respectful
We're all professionals here.

Confession: I didn't become a bookworm until my 30s. I was fortunate to be invited by a coworker to join a book club at the non-profit I worked for at that time. We started off reading books for fun and soon realized we all benefited from throwing a mental health book in the mix. In 2019, I moved from Florida to North Carolina and I quickly realized how much I missed my therapist book club and stopped reading books. COVID didn't help the situation. So here I am getting one up and going for myself and to build connections with fellow therapists in my community.
